Quick Read

The important parts, stated plainly.

01

Hand-dyed variation belongs to the piece

Color placement, saturation, pattern movement, edge marks, and small shifts are expected. Those natural differences are not defects.

02

Every shop item is made to order and final sale

Each piece is dyed after you order it, so shop items cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded for preference, fit, or hand-dyed color variation.

03

Custom work and auction wins are final sale too

Approved custom dye work, send-in services, auction purchases, discounted items, and pieces altered after purchase cannot be returned or refunded for preference or fit.

04

Damage and incorrect orders are handled directly

Send clear photos of the item, package, and shipping label within three calendar days. Donut will review the problem and provide the next step.

Send-In Work

The piece should never arrive before the approval.

A clean blank, a thrifted jacket, an already-printed tee, and a collaboration run do not move through the same process. Review comes first so the piece, timing, and accepted risks are clear.

  1. Choose the closest route

Start with the band, business, thrift, blanks, or printed-tee lane so the right details and risks are reviewed.

  2. Wait for written approval

An inquiry does not reserve studio time or authorize a shipment. Wait for the agreed scope, price, timing, and shipping instructions.

  3. Ship clean, dry, tracked, and insured

The customer is responsible for the piece until tracking shows delivery to the studio. Use enough insurance to cover its documented replacement value.

  4. Review the finished work

Donut checks, photographs, packs, and returns the finished piece with any care or result notes that apply to that piece.

Returns & Order Problems

Start with the order as it arrived.

Every shop item is dyed to order, so all sales are final. Damage or an incorrect order is always handled below.

Pieces marked returnable

Only a product page that says "Eligible returns within 7 days" allows a return. For those pieces, email donutdyes25@gmail.com within seven calendar days of delivery and wait for return instructions before mailing anything back.

  • The piece must be unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and in the condition received.
  • It must be free of smoke, fragrance, deodorant, makeup, pet hair, stains, and new damage.
  • Use the original protective packaging when practical and include the order number.
  • After authorization, place the return with the carrier within seven calendar days and keep the tracking number.

Final-sale work

The following purchases cannot be returned because the piece was made, altered, or sold for a specific customer or event.

  • Every made-to-order shop item, which is every product unless its page says "Eligible returns within 7 days".
  • Custom dye work and completed send-in services.
  • Live-auction purchases and other clearly marked final-sale items.
  • Discounted or clearance items.
  • Blank pieces after dye work, alteration, washing, or wear has begun.
  • Any piece returned outside the approved window or outside its original condition.

Damage or an incorrect order

Contact the studio within three calendar days of delivery. Include the order number and clear photos of the item, outer package, inner packaging, and shipping label.

  • Keep all packaging until the review is complete.
  • Do not wash, wear, repair, or discard the item before Donut replies.
  • When Donut confirms a studio or fulfillment error, Donut will provide a replacement, repair, refund, or return label based on the situation.
  • Normal hand-dyed variation, a disclosed piece condition, and an expected print or fiber reaction are not treated as damage.

Refunds and order changes

Approved refunds return to the original payment method after the item is received and inspected. Original shipping is not refunded on a preference return.

  • Banks and card issuers may take five to ten business days to post an approved refund.
  • The customer pays preference-return shipping. Donut covers reasonable return shipping for a confirmed incorrect or damaged order.
  • Send an order-change or cancellation request as soon as possible. Changes cannot be guaranteed after packing, shipping, or custom work begins.

Shipping

Clear timing before the package moves.

Ready-made orders, auction wins, and custom projects move on different schedules. A shipping label can also appear before the carrier completes its first scan.

Where Donut ships

Online checkout currently accepts shipping addresses in the United States. International delivery is not available through checkout at this time.

  • Online checkout offers Standard Shipping only, at a flat $5.00 USD per order.
  • Applicable tax is calculated by Stripe at checkout and shown before payment.
  • Express shipping is not offered through online checkout.

Processing times

Ready-to-ship pieces normally leave the Brandon, Mississippi studio within three to five business days after cleared payment.

  • Weekends and federal holidays are not counted as business days.
  • Processing time is separate from carrier transit time. Standard Shipping does not promise a delivery date.
  • Custom and send-in timing is set in the written project approval because rinse, dry, finishing, and queue time vary.
  • An auction winner receives payment and shipping instructions after the lot closes. Processing begins after payment clears.
  • If an unusual delay affects an accepted order, Donut will contact the customer using the order email.

Tracking and address changes

Tracking is sent to the checkout email when the shipping label is created. Carrier movement may take up to two business days to appear.

  • Review the shipping address before payment and contact Donut immediately if it is wrong.
  • An address change is not guaranteed after a label is created or a carrier has the package.
  • The customer is responsible for added carrier costs when an incorrect address causes a return or reshipment.

Delayed, lost, or missing packages

If tracking has not moved for seven business days, or a delivered package cannot be found after 48 hours, email the studio with the order number.

  • Check the delivery area, household members, neighbors, front desk, parcel locker, and local carrier office first.
  • Donut will help review tracking and open a carrier claim when appropriate.
  • Carrier investigations take time, and a replacement or refund is not issued until the available delivery and claim information is reviewed.
  • Donut is not responsible for theft after a carrier confirms correct delivery, but the studio will provide reasonable claim documentation.

Return shipping

Use a trackable service and packaging that protects the piece. A customer remains responsible for an authorized preference return until it reaches the studio.

  • Insure a return when its value would be difficult to replace.
  • Donut cannot refund an authorized return that is lost before delivery to the studio.
  • Do not send a return, custom piece, or auction item to an address found elsewhere; use the written instructions provided for that transaction.

Cart & Checkout

A cart saves a choice. Payment secures it.

The store rechecks price, option, and availability during checkout. This matters because many finished pieces are one-of-one.

Cart availability

Adding a piece to the cart does not hold it, remove it from the shop, or guarantee that it will still be available later.

  • A verified checkout temporarily holds selections for up to 30 minutes. Refreshing the checkout resumes that hold; it does not extend it.
  • Confirmed payment secures the purchase. Abandoned sessions release their own holds after expiration is verified.
  • A cart is saved on the current device and may not appear on another browser or device.
  • Price and availability are validated again before secure checkout begins.

Finished pieces and blank canvases

A finished-piece price covers the listed dyed piece. A blank-canvas price covers only the base piece unless the product page explicitly says otherwise.

  • Custom dye work for a blank canvas is reviewed, priced, and scheduled separately.
  • Purchasing a blank does not automatically reserve a custom-work slot.
  • Wait for written project approval before shipping another piece or expecting dye work to begin.

Secure payment and totals

Stripe processes checkout payment. Donut Dyes does not receive or store the full card number used at checkout.

  • Item price, shipping, and any applicable tax are shown before payment is submitted.
  • A bank authorization is not the same as an accepted order if checkout reports an error.
  • Keep the checkout receipt and order reference until delivery and inspection are complete.

Order acceptance

An order may be cancelled and refunded if inventory is unavailable, pricing is materially incorrect, payment appears fraudulent, or the order cannot be shipped safely or lawfully.

  • Donut will use the checkout email when a correction or refund is required.
  • Submitting repeated orders or payment attempts does not create multiple claims to a one-off piece.
  • For help before payment, email donutdyes25@gmail.com with the product link and the option you are considering.

Custom & Send-In Work

Approval protects the piece and the project.

Blanks, thrift finds, printed tees, band runs, and business work each carry different material, timing, and approval needs.

Inquiry and written scope

An inquiry starts a review. It does not reserve a slot, approve a piece, set a final price, or authorize shipment.

  • Written approval should identify the piece or unit run, general dye direction, known risks, price, expected timing, and shipping instructions.
  • Do not ship until those details are accepted by both the customer and Donut.
  • A material change in piece, quantity, condition, artwork, or deadline may require a new review and price.

Inbound piece shipping

Send pieces clean, completely dry, and free of pet hair, smoke, fragrance, loose debris, and items left in pockets.

  • Use tracked shipping and enough insurance to cover the documented replacement value.
  • The customer is responsible for the package until tracking confirms delivery to the approved studio address.
  • Do not use a handwritten or previously saved address when the current project instructions provide a different one.

Material and dye risk

Dye results depend on fiber content, original color, prior washing, coatings, repairs, stains, age, print method, and hidden wear.

  • Exact color placement, saturation, and pattern matching are not guaranteed.
  • Existing prints, seams, thread, patches, hardware, and synthetic fibers may react differently from the rest of the piece.
  • A piece may be declined or redirected after an in-person inspection reveals a risk that photos could not show.
  • Expected variation and a disclosed material reaction are not defects.

Care, damage, and studio responsibility

Donut will use reasonable care while an approved piece is in studio custody and will communicate if the piece reveals a new problem.

  • The customer accepts the risks specifically described and approved before work begins.
  • If Donut causes damage outside the accepted dye risk or loses a piece while it is in studio custody, Donut will work with the customer on repair, replacement, service refund, or reimbursement up to the documented fair replacement value.
  • Sentimental, collector, autograph, or one-of-a-kind value is not covered unless a separate written value agreement is made before shipment.
  • Finished custom and send-in work is final sale except for confirmed studio damage, loss, or a material departure from the written scope.

Live Auctions

Public bids need public rules.

The auction room shows the active lot, accepted bids, bidder nicknames, and the server-controlled closing state. Review these rules before joining a live round.

Who may bid

Bidders must be at least 18 years old, able to enter a binding purchase, and able to receive the item at a United States shipping address.

  • Use one recognizable nickname that follows the room's nickname rules.
  • A nickname and every accepted bid amount appear in the public bid history.
  • Do not bid on behalf of another person without their permission and ability to complete payment.

Accepted bids and the closing clock

A submitted bid is not accepted until the room confirms it. The next valid amount shown in the room is the minimum accepted bid at that moment.

  • Accepted bids are binding and cannot be withdrawn because of preference, fit, or a mistaken change of mind.
  • The auction server's time and accepted-bid record control the result, not the clock displayed on a bidder's device.
  • A bid received after the lot closes is rejected even if a device showed time remaining.
  • Any announced extension, correction, pause, or cancellation will be stated in the room rather than silently changing accepted bid history.

Winner, payment, shipping, and tax

The highest valid accepted bid at close is the winning bid, subject to review for fraud, a material listing error, or a documented technical failure.

  • The winner must respond and complete the provided payment step within 24 hours unless the lot states a different deadline.
  • If the winner does not complete payment, Donut may offer the piece to the next eligible bidder or relist it.
  • The winning bid covers the lot only unless the listing says otherwise. Shipping and applicable tax are added to the final payment total.
  • Processing begins after payment clears and the shipping address is confirmed.

Final sale and fair-room enforcement

Auction purchases are final sale except when the lot arrives damaged, incorrect, or materially different from its listing.

  • Donut may reject fraudulent, abusive, duplicate, automated, or technically invalid activity.
  • Donut may pause or cancel a lot before completion when a material description, pricing, availability, or system error would make the result unfair.
  • Administrative action will not be used to create a hidden bid or silently raise the price.
  • Questions about a lot should be asked before bidding whenever the room provides enough time to do so.

Privacy

Only the information needed to run the studio.

Donut Dyes uses customer information to answer inquiries, complete orders, run public auctions, send requested drop alerts, prevent abuse, and keep required business records.

Information collected

The information collected depends on what the customer chooses to do on the site.

  • Orders may include name, email, phone, shipping address, purchased items, order totals, and fulfillment status.
  • Custom-work inquiries may include contact details, piece information, deadlines, project notes, and uploaded photos.
  • Welcome-offer signup includes an email address, phone number, email-marketing consent record, subscription status, and unsubscribe record. Drop-alert signup includes an email address, consent record, subscription status, and unsubscribe record. Welcome-offer phone numbers are kept as a customer contact record; neither signup sends SMS marketing or text messages.
  • Live-auction participation includes a public nickname, accepted bid amounts and times, session information, and abuse-prevention records.
  • Site analytics may include pages viewed, general device or browser information, and interaction events such as filter use or checkout start.

How information is used

Customer information is used only for ordinary studio, store, support, safety, and recordkeeping work.

  • Review and reply to project inquiries, including piece and dye-risk evaluation.
  • Validate inventory, process checkout, fulfill orders, provide tracking, and handle returns or claims.
  • Operate auction sessions, show the public bid history, determine a winner, and prevent manipulation or abuse.
  • Send release, live-drop, or custom-window email only after signup consent. No SMS marketing or text messages are sent from welcome-offer or drop-alert signup.
  • Understand site performance and improve customer workflows.

Service providers and sharing

Donut Dyes does not sell or rent customer information and does not use it for third-party targeted advertising.

  • Stripe handles payment and payment-security information.
  • Shipping carriers receive the information needed to deliver and track a package.
  • Supabase supports stored records and live-auction data, Resend supports transactional and requested email, Sanity supports published catalog content, and Vercel supports hosting and site analytics.
  • Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect customers or the studio, or to investigate fraud and abuse.

Retention and public auction history

Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, an active customer relationship, dispute handling, fraud prevention, or legal and tax obligations.

  • Order and transaction records may be retained as required for accounting, tax, chargeback, and legal needs.
  • Inquiry details and photos may be retained while a project is reviewed or active and for a reasonable follow-up period afterward.
  • An unsubscribed address may remain on a suppression record so future drop-alert mail is not sent by mistake.
  • Accepted auction nicknames, amounts, and times are public during the auction and may remain in the lot history as part of the result and transaction record.

Your choices

Email donutdyes25@gmail.com to ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your email address.

  • Use the unsubscribe link in a drop-alert email to stop future marketing messages. Order and project messages may still be sent when needed to complete a transaction.
  • A deletion request may be limited when information must be kept for an active order, payment dispute, fraud prevention, tax record, legal obligation, or public auction result.
  • The site is not directed to children under 13. Live-auction participation is limited to adults 18 and older.
  • No online system can promise absolute security. Donut uses reasonable safeguards and limits access to the information needed for studio work.
